The bay tree is indigenous to Asia Minor, from where it spread to the Mediterranean and then to other countries with similar climates.
Belongs to the Laurel family (Lauraceae).
Ingredients: Myrcene, parthenolides, cineol, geraniol, eugenol, methyleugenol, pinene, linalool, fatty oil, lauric, palmitic, and linolenic acids, traces of tannins, flavonoids.
